The Episcopal Church of the Advent

Heavenly Scavengers

Our Outreach Committee works with this group from St. Mary's, Stone Harbor to scavenge furniture and other household items from houses being torn down in Stone Harbor. When a house is available a lot of hands are needed to collect and transport the items to storage in Wildwood and then to distribute them to people who need them.

Fred Obligado coordinates this effort and can be reached at 898-9699.

Visiting the Sick and Shut In

We always need visitors to adopt one of our homebound people on a regular basis. This is a rewarding ministry as you can build a relationship with an interesting, usually older person, who will enjoy your company.

Lorraine Brooks is the coordinator and can be reached at 465-5492.

Drivers

We always need drivers! We have many older people who need transportation to doctor's appointments, to buy groceries and other important things.  If you need a ride or are able to be a driver and can give a couple of hours a week.
Call the office (884-3065) or Lorraine (465-5492)

Altar Flowers

Every Monday, two women come in, break down the altar flower arrangements into smaller bouquets and deliver them to those who need some cheering up. If you would like to participate in this ministry call the office (884-3065) and we will put you in touch with the right person.
